So I finally pulled myself off of the couch after a few days of rest and relaxation and tried my new Jillian DVD. Man it was tough. Let me start by saying I'm in no means a "Yogi" nor am I flexible. The DVD is broken down into two separate workouts, level 1 and level 2. Obviously level 2 is a more advanced workout and should be done if you're more advanced. I probably won't be venturing to do that workout for a while. I'd really like to master level 1 first.
The yoga in the DVD isn't your typical quiet and relaxed yoga, it's yoga mixed with aerobic moves which in my opinion makes it pretty difficult. My only other experience with yoga like I said in a previous post is with P90X (which I am starting back up in Jan!) This isn't a DVD where you hold a move for 30 seconds to a minute (or longer if you're that awesome). This DVD has you moving in and out of a move as if you were doing weighted repetitions. I was introduced to a few new moves (camel and dolphin) which I thought were pretty awesome and I could definitely feel the burn!
Hopefully I can keep some sort of routine up these next few weeks before I go home for the holidays. I'll more than likely do random Jillian DVDs until I begin P90X again.

Yoga Meltdown
Today I had to run some errands and on my way home I stopped at Target. I love that store and always end up buying way more than I intend to. Today was so exception. I walked in to get Christmas present bags for my friends and left with a Jillian Michaels DVD. I love me some Jillian Michaels. I don't workout to her as much as I used to, but for months I have wanted to try her Yoga Meltdown DVD. I'll admit, I'm not flexible and a bit nervous to try it out but I'm excited. The only other yoga experience I have is with P90X (damn that 1 1/2 hour video!!!). This week is obviously Thanksgiving, so I'm going to work out with it this week while I have some down time! I'll post about the video after I've tried it a few times.

Etsy Finds
I know this is a blog that is mostly about fitness and what not, but I love jewelry and clothing and I want to share what I find! Here is the first post of Etsy finds that I hope to post periodically. Lately I've been obsessed with all things sapphire. I've always loved the color and it can be worn and used in so many ways! Here are some things I found on Etsy that I think are cool.

Lack of motivation
I know I'm not the only one who feels this way, but whenever the holidays come around I find excuses to not exercise and I eat whatever I want. "The holidays only come once a year!" I always say. Once the holidays are over and it's time for a new year, then I jump back into a good routine. I need to stop making excuses and get on track!!

Interests
Although I plan to dedicate this blog to my fitness journey, I intend to blog periodically about other things of interest. These things include makeup, beauty, clothing, jewelry and anything else that I find interesting to share! I love bargain shopping and I periodically "window shop" online. I will post my finds and dream of one day buying them!
My Journey
I'm starting this blog to help me stay accountable through my fitness journey. I'll update this blog as often as I can! Thanks for following me.
